A battle between two teams fighting for their playoff lives.
The Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins will enter their important matchup on opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. The Dolphins are fresh off their “Miami Miracle” win over the New England Patriots where they scored the game-winning touchdown on the last play of the game. The Viking are fresh off firing their Offensive Coordinator after an ugly 21-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
Despite coming off two anemic road losses that threw the team into turmoil, the Vikings enter this game as the 6 seed in the NFC playoff picture at 6-6-1 and in control of their postseason destiny. Minnesota is a half game ahead of the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins, who are all going through struggles of their own.
The Dolphins are a half game better than the Vikings through 13 games at 7-6, yet they’re currently on the outside looking in for the AFC playoffs. Miami is currently the 8 seed, in a logjam of four 7-6 teams vying for the final Wild Card spot. The Dolphins trail the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts via tiebreaker but they are ahead of the Tennessee Titans.
This incredibly important game for both teams kicks off from U.S. Bank Stadium at 12:00 PM Central on Sunday. Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts will have the call on CBS.
