Arizona Cardinals place Christian Kirk, Mike Iupati, & Olsen Pierre on IR, promote Vontarrius Dora from PS

The Arizona Cardinals made two roster moves.

The Arizona Cardinals made a number of roster moves today, placing Christian Kirk, Mike Iupati, & Olsen Pierre on injured reserve.

We knew about Kirk and Iupati, but Pierre apparently had a knee injury that required him to be done for the season.

That is three key players for the Cardinals now done for the year.

In corresponding news, the team has promoted defensive end Vontarrius Dora and wide receiver Jalen Tolliver.

From the team:

Dora (6-4, 256) spent Week 11 on the Cardinals active roster after getting promoted from the practice squad, but didn’t play against Oakland. He re-joined the Cardinals practice squad on October 30 after spending the preseason with the team prior to being waived/injured on September 2. Dora originally joined the Cardinals practice squad in 2017 after playing in one game as a rookie in 2016 with the Denver Broncos. He entered the league with the Broncos in 2016 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Louisiana Tech and spent time on the practice squads of the Broncos and Colts before joining the Cardinals.

Tolliver (6-3, 210) was on the Cardinals active roster in Week 12 prior to being released on November 24. He originally signed with the Cardinals in May as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Arkansas-Monticello and has spent this season on Arizona’s practice squad. Tolliver led all of Division II in 2017 with 16 touchdown catches on 67 receptions for 1,109 yards (16.5-yard avg.) and finished his college career with 192 receptions for 3,168 yards and 39 touchdowns in 42 games.

Dora will wear jersey #54 and Tolliver will wear #17.

They also made a number of moves on the practice squad.

They placed offensive lineman Rock Leonard on practice squad IR, yes it is even happening on the PS, while also releasing Montay Crockett.

In a corresponding move, they have signed receiver Daniel Braverman.

From the team:

Braverman (5-10, 185) played in three games with the Bears as a rookie in 2016 after entering the league with Chicago as a seventh-round selection (230th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan. He also spent time with the Chiefs practice squad last season and was elevated to Kansas City’s active roster, but didn’t play. Braverman was released by Kansas City at the end of the preseason this year. He appeared in 37 games (27 starts) at Western Michigan and caught 213 passes for 2,509 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Quick healing to Kirk, Iupati and Pierre.
