2018 N.F.L. Playoff Picture: The Paths That Remain for Each Team | The New York Times
The Chiefs are on top of the A.F.C. and have clinched a playoff berth. Their most likely postseason outcome is a No. 1 seed, with a bye week and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. But the Chargers share the Chiefs’ 11-3 record, which means the Chiefs must win out or hope for at least one Chargers loss to guarantee the division title. There is a world in which a 12-4 Chiefs team would be the No. 5 seed in the A.F.C., playing its first playoff game on the road.

“It felt pretty good,” Berry said after the game. “I got a few different looks I couldn’t get at practice. I felt like we handled them well as a defense. Short week, but I think we did pretty well.”

2019 NFL Draft order: Cardinals No. 1; Broncos, Packers in top 14 | NFL
30. Chiefs
As we’ve been reminded with regularity this season -- including last week against the Chargers -- the Kansas City secondary is vulnerable. They could use another playmaker, or two, in the backend. It wouldn’t hurt to add another edge rusher, even if it’s unlikely that Dee Ford would be allowed to depart in free agency, and they’ll need to find a replacement for Kareem Hunt this offseason.
Traveling to Seattle for a primetime game against the Seahawks is usually disaster waiting to happen for most visiting teams. Since Pete Carroll took over as coach in 2010, the Seahawks have gone 16-2 straight-up in home primetime games (14-3-1 ATS). The Seahawks have also been nearly unbeatable at home against AFC teams during Russell Wilson’s career. Since drafting Wilson in 2012, the Seahawks have gone 12-1 straight-up in home games against the AFC (8-5 ATS), although that one loss came this year against the Chargers. On the Chiefs’ end, they’ve struggled against the NFC with Andy Reid. In their past 15 games against the conference, Kansas City is 8-7 straight-up and 6-8-1 ATS
Chargers NFL’s most complete team? Bears NFC’s team to beat? | NFL
1) The Chargers are currently the most complete team in the NFL.
This is absolutely true. And we all saw the best proof yet last Thursday night, in Los Angeles’ pulsating comeback win over the Chiefs in Arrowhead. The Chargers (11-3) can win any style of fight -- anywhere. That last bit is crucial, especially if L.A. doesn’t end up with home-field advantage in the playoffs. The Bolts are 6-1 on the road. In just the past three weeks, they’ve erased major second-half deficits to win at Pittsburgh and Kansas City. This team doesn’t need the comfy confines of home to thrive. And let’s be honest: The Chargers haven’t had a true home game since they left San Diego.
Saints survive slugfest, zap Panthers’ playoff aims | NFL
The New Orleans Saints (12-2) are one win away from securing home-field advantage in the NFC after holding off the Carolina Panthers (6-8) on Monday night, 12-9, to close out Week 15.
McVay on Marcus Peters incident: We need to be better | NFL
“I saw the video. I got a chance to talk to Marcus,” McVay said during his Monday news conference. “He knows that we’ve got to be better in those situations and can’t allow whatever is going on in terms of that dialogue to affect our ability to be focused on what is going on during the game and on the field. ... We had a good discussion and he knows that.”

Chiefs playoff picture: Steelers beat Patriots edition
Following their 29-28 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night, the Chiefs (and their fans) had to wait almost three days to get any good news about their hopes for the postseason. But some finally arrived late on Sunday afternoon, when the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New England Patriots 17-10.
