The North Dakota State product was most recently with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bears announced Wednesday that nickelback Bryce Callahan was being place on injured reserve with his previously reported broken foot, ending his great 2018 season.
In a corresponding move, the team announced they were signing CB Marcus Williams, out of North Dakota State:

We have signed DB Marcus Williams (North Dakota State) to the active 53-man roster and have placed DB Bryce Callahan on IR.
The reason for that distinction of college is that he should not be confused with Marcus Williams, the safety for the New Orleans Saints, who went to Utah.
Anyway, the Bears’ newly signed Williams is a five year veteran who has played for the Texans, Jets and, most recently, Tampa Bay, where he appeared in two games, the last being against the Bears way back in week 4.
Williams should be familiar to the nickel spot and back up duty, seeing as he’s appeared in 51 games in his career but with just 15 starts. Williams had a career high 6 interceptions for the Jets in 2015 when he started just three games and appeared in 13.
Sherrick McManis is the next man up in place of Callahan in the immediate term, with Williams just slotting in as a backup.
