Bengals WR Tyler Boyd has an MCL sprain

Boyd could miss the Bengals’ final two games.

You’d be hard pressed to find an NFL offense that’s been more cursed than the 2018 Bengals.

Coming into Week 15, this unit had already lost its franchise quarterback, All-Pro wide receiver and Pro Bowl tight end. Now, they’ve lost their best remaining player on offense in Tyler Boyd, though it’s thankfully not a major injury.

According to Ian Rapoport, Tyler Boyd suffered a minor MCL sprain during Sunday’s win over the Raiders, which could cost him the final two regular-season games against the Browns and Steelers.

All things considered, this is good news for Boyd and the Bengals. It may cost him the final two games of the regular season, but he should be healed up very soon and not miss any time in the offseason.

The same cannot be said for guys like Andy Dalton, A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert who are in the midst of lengthy rehabs from their season-ending injuries. The last thing this offense needs is another key player missing time in the offseason, and it sounds like Boyd avoided that fate.
