Colts Film Room Podcast: Attacking the Jaguars’ defense, and new-look offense in Week 13

Matt Danely takes you inside the Jacksonville Jaguars Week 12 game film to discuss how the Colts should attack them in their Week 13 matchup

The Indianapolis Colts are set to travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars for their second matchup of the season. The Colts sit at 6-5 while the Jaguars have fallen to 3-8 and the Colts ultimately control their destiny at this point.

Today, Matt Danely will take you inside the Jaguars game film from their Week 12 matchup against the Buffalo Bills to discuss both sides of the ball.

The Jaguars will be trotting out Cody Kessler to start at quarterback after benching Blake Bortles, and Leonard Fournette will also be sidelined while he serves a suspension for his role in the fight from a week ago. This will absolutely change some aspects of how the Jaguars’ offense hopes to attack the Colts defense, but with Kessler being on the roster for a good portion of the year, how much of their approach will actually change?

On the other side of the ball, the Colts will have to be on top of their game regardless of how the nation views the Jaguars’ defense. They have a fast-flowing front seven, and a very stingy group in the secondary for Andrew Luck and the Colts offense to deal with. How will the running game develop? The Colts only put up 81 rushing yards in their last meeting and the team’s strength is still in the trenches of their defense.

How will the offensive line hold up this go-round? How can the Colts get T.Y. Hilton involved early and often again this week? How will the tight end situation effect the gameplan this week? These are all important questions that Frank Reich and the offense will have to consider with their approach this week.

The Colts currently sit with the same record as the Baltimore Ravens who are currently in the No. 6 spot in the AFC playoff picture, but with future schedules being considered, the Colts find themselves in a must-win situation this week. We go through all of that and much more in today’s episode.
