Observations:

• With Michael Roberts out because of a shoulder injury, the Lions heavily relied upon Levine Toilolo, and the veteran tight end made the most of his opportunities, putting up a career-high 90 receiving yards.
• Joe Dahl is the Lions’ new fullback, I guess. Luke Willson also saw some time in the backfield, but when the Lions went heavy, it was usually Dahl back there.
• Interesting to only see Bruce Ellington in there for 38 snaps. He was targeted 10 times in the game. Meanwhile, TJ Jones was in for 50 snaps and was only targeted once.

Observations:

• Ezekiel Ansah continues to see his playing time rise, but he’s still not really getting a full starter’s worth of snaps. He officially did start on Sunday, but Romeo Okwara is still outsnapping him, even if it’s only by a tiny fraction.
• With Devon Kennard lost to an injury early in the game, Eli Harold mostly took over and notched a couple pressures, a sack and a pass defended. If Kennard is out for an extended period of time, expect to continue to see more Harold.
• Mike Ford nearly played every single snap against the Rams. That just goes to show how much trust this coaching staff has in the undrafted rookie.
• For the first time all year, Tavon Wilson didn’t receive a single defensive snap. Wilson is more of a run-stopper, so this appears to have been a move to use personnel more prepared to stop the pass. However, last week, Wilson only saw three defensive snaps against a backup quarterback. He may just be getting phased out of the defense at this point. Meanwhile, rookie Tracy Walker was back up to his average 20-30 percent of defensive snaps, mostly to replace Glover Quin.
