The Lions cornerback put up a vintage performance against the Cardinals.
The Detroit Lions bounced back on Sunday to pick up just their second win over the last seven games. While the offense continues to lull itself to sleep, the defense had yet another impressive performance and has now strung together a couple of really good games.
Let’s take a closer look at the team’s top Pro Football Focus grades from their Week 14 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Offense

Matthew Stafford may have thrown for just 101 yards—the second lowest of his entire career—but his overall performance was good enough to earn the top spot on the Lions’ offense. He did complete 65 percent of his passes and only took one sack, so there was some good to take from his performance. But he also didn’t complete a pass longer than 17 yards and averaged just 4.4 yards per attempt.
Elsewhere, it’s not much of a surprise to see Zach Zenner near the top of the list. Zenner ran hard and was almost single-handedly responsible for the Lions being able to put the game away late. Zenner finished with 54 yards rushing, one touchdown and a respectable 4.5 yards per carry.
Zenner was also helped by the performance of Detroit’s one-two punch on the interior of their offensive line. Left guard Frank Ragnow and center Graham Glasgow both had commendable games.
Defense:

Big Play Slay is back, baby! Darius Slay’s fantastic day, highlighted by his pick six, earned himself a spot on PFF’s Team of the Week.
“Big-Play Slay was at it again, getting his hands on as many passes as receptions allowed (3),” PFF’s Gordon McGuinness wrote. “Those three receptions went for just 31 yards, with Slay coming away with two pass breakups and an interception that he took back the other way for a touchdown. On the day, he allowed an NFL passer rating of just 4.6 on throws into his coverage.”
This was a great bounceback performance by Slay, who was allowing an average passer rating of 101.5 just a few weeks ago. Considering all the injuries and struggles he’s been going through, it was great to see a throwback performance from Slay.
Elsewhere, it was pretty much the usual cast of characters atop the list. Damon Harrison Sr. had another impressive game, but it’s interesting to see Ricky Jean Francois above A’Shawn Robinson, and Francois didn’t do it on a limited amount of snaps, either. He actually played more than Harrison (41 snaps to 36).
Rookie safety Tracy Walker saw a career-high snaps in this game and thrived, earning an impressive 75.3 grade. His box score only shows two tackles, but Walker’s overall course of work this season is worthy of some serious praise, even if he’s played a limited amount of snaps:
Tracy Walker hasn’t played enough defensive snaps to qualify for @pff’s position rankings. But if he had, he’d rank fourth among all safeties. That seems pretty good for a rookie.

Interesting that Glover Quin, the player Walker will likely eventually replace, finished with a grade just below his.
