Falcoholinks: All the Falcons news you need for Monday, Dec. 3

Man. Yesterday was big bad.

The Atlanta Falcons continued their recent losing ways, dropping their fourth straight and moving to 4-8 in an absolute snoozer of a football game. Seriously, this was visual Ambien. The longest play in first half was Ravens fake punt for 21 yards, with both teams stagnant on offense. The Falcons did not eclipse 100 yards on offense until the fourth quarter. If you’re a fan of glacial pace games that end in losses, this one was right up your alley.

On the back of yesterday’s boring loss, here’s Falcoholinks for a Monday morning.

Deion Returns

Deion Jones hadn’t seen the field since Week 1 against Philadelphia, and yesterday marked his triumphant return to a Falcons’ defense that has sorely missed his presence at linebacker.

Aside from a costly penalty in the first quarter, Deion played well in his return. In an utterly forgettable game, it was great to see him back with the team.

Sanu’s streak of completions comes to an end

Mohamed Sanu was six-for-six over his career as a passer, but he finally saw that streak snapped against the Ravens. Sanu came out in the 12-Gauge formation for a 3rd-and-1 and overshot Julio Jones downfield. Your favorite quarterback is human, after all.

Silver linings

The Atlanta Falcons’ 2018 has been a disaster of epic proportions, and Sunday’s abysmal loss to the Ravens was basically the death knell for this year. Silver lining looking forward? The Falcons can now use the final four games to get a better look at their young talent (more Isaiah Oliver, please), and potentially come away with a top-ten draft pick.

With players returning from injury and the addition of a first-round playmaker, the Falcons are in decent shape to contend once more in 2019. Our Kevin Knight makes his case for the value in a lost season, and breaks down what Atlanta should do over the final four games.

The Falcoholic Live Postgame Special

Want to wallow? Sure you do — it’s what Mondays are for! If you missed the live broadcast, be sure to give this week’s Falcoholic Live Postgame Special a watch. Kevin Knight was joined by both Adnan Ikic and Cory Woodroof to gripe about the awful trash that took the field in Atlanta yesterday. It’s therapeutic, we swear.
