Finding the right players to move forward with is the most important aspect of the Arizona Cardinals season

The Cardinals need to find the right mix of players to move forward with in 2019 and beyond.

When you have a season like the one the Arizona Cardinals have had, where the best thing that comes of it may be the opportunity to hold the top pick in the upcoming draft, there is not much to look forward to week-to-week.

One of the most important things they can do for the final three games of the season is see what they have to look forward to and who can contribute in 2019.

Trent Sherfield had a nice game in week 14, the Arizona Cardinals have maybe the second worst receiving corps in the NFL, his development over the final four games will be key to how much they have to invest in the wide receiver room next season. Are they needing three new bodies? One to take pressure off of Christian Kirk, one to ease the potential loss of Larry Fitzgerald and one steady the room?

If Sherfield can play, that means it is just two new bodies, with Sherfield being that 4/5 type that can continue to grow.

Cameron Malveaux, Zach Moore and Benson Mayowa are looking for a home for 2019, the Cardinals have no defensive ends or outside rushers opposite Chandler Jones and the trio has put up seven sacks this season in only 679 combined snaps, or 74% of the defensive snaps. Could all three be back as rotational pieces in 2019?

The offensive line is the most obvious. The Cardinals now are missing their entire projected starting offensive line for 2018, but that doesn’t matter.

Before the injuries set in, the Cardinals were still the worst line in the NFL. Meaning that outside of maybe Mason Cole, there are four open spots to earn.

Can Korey Cunningham, Colby Gossett, Oday Aboushi, Joe Barksdale and Will Holden show enough to warrant coming back in 2019 in any type of role? Or, will the Cardinals be looking for not only four starters, but three to four backups to go with A.Q. Shipley and John Wetzel?

Is David Amerson a potential fit for 2019 across from Patrick Peterson? Who can play linebacker with Haason Reddick and Josh Bynes in 2019?

That is what the final three games for the Cardinals will be about in 2018... What do they have for 2019?
