Here’s something overwhelmingly positive.
As we all sulk through the remainder of the Atlanta Falcons’ 2018 season, let’s redirect our attention to Hollywood for a little Falcons-related movie news.
The upcoming, self-titled Brian Banks biopic officially has a release date.
You can look for the Tom Shadyac-helmed project, starring actor Aldis Hodge in the titular role of the former Falcons linebacker to hit theaters August 9, 2019, per Deadline Hollywood.
The film follows Banks through the turmoil of his imprisonment after being falsely convicted of rape to his improbable comeback story to finally fulfill his dream of playing in the NFL with the Falcons.
It premiered at the now-defunct Los Angeles Film Festival this fall and was acquired for distribution soon after.
The film also stars notable talents like Greg Kinnear and Sherri Shepherd.
So, when the Falcons get going again next summer, at least you’ll have an inspiring tale to look forward to that is Atlanta-related. It’s great that the Falcons were the team to give Banks the Hollywood ending to his long journey, so Hollywood feels like a fitting place for this story to be told.
We’ll keep tabs on this film to let you know more about how things go, but just for fun, who would you cast in a movie to play various members of the Falcons?
