Jordan Simmons set to take over for D.J. Fluker for foreseeable future

https://ift.tt/2QAFWGN

Seattle Seahawks right guard D.J. Fluker suffered what Pete Carroll called a “legitimate” hamstring injury on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, and he looks to be out at least a few games. The plan at this point is to have Jordan Simmons fill in for Fluker again as he did last month, not for Ethan Pocic to go back to being a starter as he was in September.

Fluker has been a surprisingly great addition to the team on just a $1.5 million deal, helping improve the Seahawks pass and run-blocking while also seemingly becoming one of Seattle’s best locker room presences. The former first round pick of the San Diego Chargers is set to be a free agent in March, but this latest injury brings up some concerns that surrounded Fluker when he was with the New York Giants in 2017 and finished the season on injured reserve.

The Seahawks also officially placed running back C.J. Prosise on injured reserve, ending his 2018 campaign.
