Let’s see how former Eagles looked in Week 15 of the NFL regular season

Plus, LeGarrette Blount’s production has taken a hit.

We have just two week’s of games left in the 2018 NFL regular season, and after a big win against the Rams, the Eagles are back on a familiar underdog run. It’s certainly not the same group as last year, but the vibe is back, at least a little.

It’s taken most of the season to get feel that energy the team had with some of those former players. Some former Eagles have gone on to find success elsewhere, and others have moved on, but not up — and a whole host of them have ended up injured in both the short and long term.

Three former Eagles quarterbacks were active throughout the league this week, but none of them saw snaps, including Mark Sanchez (Washington) — who lost the starting job so quickly, it’s gotta hurt —, Matt Barkley (Bills), and Chase Daniel (Bears).

Here’s how some other former Eagles fared in Week 15:

Carter’s career day

Former Eagles wide receiver and special teams returner DeAndre Carter had a career-high 50 yard catch on Saturday for the Texans, and most of those yards came after the catch. He finished the day with just two receptions but went for 55 yards and also had a seven yard run.

Carter also had one kick return for 28 yards, and three punt returns for 17 yards total in the team’s 29-22 win over the Jets.

Blount’s bad day

The running back was only with the Eagles for one season, but it was a big year for the team, but also for LeGarrette Blount personally to beat his former squad in the Super Bowl. Now with the Detroit Lions, Blount’s production has plummeted in 2018.

The Lions lost to Buffalo by ONE POINT on Sunday, and Blount had seven carries for just nine yards. His longest run of the day was for six yards, so you can do the math. Not good.

So far this season, Blount has 125 carries for 365 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 2.9 yards a run. The number of yards he’s totaled isn’t a career-low, but his average production is significantly lower that any of his prior eight seasons.

Bears claim NFC North title

The Chicago Bears officially win the NFC North after a big 24-17 win over the Packers in Week 15. During the contest, former Eagles tight end Trey Burton had a big game with four catches for 36 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown to take the lead in the fourth quarter.

Place kicker Cody Parkey put up six points of his own on Sunday, one short-range field goal and three point afters.

Other notables

Injuries and Inactives

  • Running back LeSean McCoy was a no-go for the Bills on Sunday, with a lingering hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined.
  • Buccaneers wideout DeSean Jackson continued to be out in Week 15 with a thumb injury.
  • Mychal Kendricks was designated to IR by the Seahawks this week, after the linebacker broke his tibia in his return last week from an eight-game suspension. Kendricks joins several other former Eagles who will finish the season on IR, including Patrick Robinson (Saints), Jaylen Watkins (Chargers), and Marcus Johnson (Colts).
