Notes and highlights from the Buccaneers 24-17 win over the Panthers

Bucs offense continues making marks on the season.

- Tampa Bay scored a touchdown on the game’s opening drive, going 75 yards in 11 plays, lasting 5:14. The drive ended with a three-yard touchdown pass from QB Jameis Winston to WR Adam Humphries.

- Humphries has caught a touchdown in each of the past three games, a career best. Over the past five weeks, he has totaled five touchdown catches, tied for the most in the NFL during that span.

- Tampa Bay recorded a sack on Carolina’s second play from scrimmage, with LB Kevin Minter dropping Panthers QB Cam Newton for an eight-yard loss. The sack is Minter’s first this season and the sixth of his career.

- On the next play, the Buccaneers intercepted Newton when LB Lavonte David deflected a pass that was picked off by S Andrew Adams at the Carolina 36-yard line and returned 16 yards, to the Carolina 20. The interception is the first of the season for Adams and the second of his career.

- Adams added a second interception in the fourth quarter, picking off a pass from Newton at the Tampa Bay 29-yard line. Adams is the first Buccaneers player to record multiple interceptions in a game since Keith Tandy (two, 1/1/17 vs. Carolina).

- Adams notched his third interception of the game on Carolina’s next drive, this time intercepting Newton at Tampa Bay’s 14-yard line, returning it five yards to the Tampa Bay 19-yard line.

- Adams is only the third player in Buccaneers history to record at least three interceptions in a game, joining Ronde Barber (twice) and Aqib Talib as the only players in franchise history with at least three interceptions in a game.

- Dating back to the 2012 season, Adams is one of only two players in the NFL to record at least three interceptions in a game (also Tennessee S Kevin Byard, 10/22/17 vs. Cleveland).

- Following Adams’ first interception, Buccaneers K Cairo Santos connected on a 35-yard field goal to give Tampa Bay a 10-0 lead.

- On the final play of the first quarter, the Buccaneers recorded their second sack of the game, with LB Lavonte David dropping Newton for a seven-yard loss. David now has 1.5 sacks this season and 19.5 in his career.

- The Buccaneers recorded their second interception of the half with under two minutes remaining, when CB Javien Elliott picked off a pass from Newton at the Tampa Bay 18-yard line, returning it 50 yards, to the Carolina 32-yard line. The interception was the first of Elliott’s career.

- On the ensuing drive, the Buccaneers drove 32 yards in five plays, with WR Chris Godwin catching a 13-yard touchdown from Winston on third-and-11, to finish off a five-play, 32-yard drive taking 52 seconds.

- Godwin finished today’s game with five catches for 101 yards, his second game this season with at least 100 receiving yards and the third of his career.

- Winston now has 81 career touchdown passes, eclipsing Josh Freeman for the most touchdown passes in franchise history.

- DE Vinny Curry recorded a sack in the third quarter, bringing Newton down for a five-yard loss. He now has 2.5 sacks this season and 24.5 in his career.

- Tampa Bay’s first points of the second half came on a one-yard touchdown run from RB Peyton Barber to cap a six-play, 75-yard drive lasting 3:35. Barber has now rushed for a touchdown in each of the past three games, the longest streak by a Buccaneers player since 2015 (Doug Martin, 11/1/15 at ATL-11/15/15 vs. DAL). Barber now has four rushing touchdowns on the season and eight in his career.

- DE Jason Pierre-Paul recorded a sack in the fourth quarter, dropping Newton for a four-yard loss on third-and-five. Pierre-Paul now has 11.5 sacks this season, the ninth-most in a single season in franchise history.

- With today’s totals, the Buccaneers now have 4,134 passing yards this season, the second-most in NFL history through 12 games. Tampa Bay has 5,312 total yards this season, the sixth-most in NFL history through 12 games.

The last time the team recorded consecutive games with multiple interceptions in the same season was in 2016 (three straight games: 11/27/16 vs. Seattle-12/7/17 vs. New Orleans).
