Tennessee catches a break.
The Giants announced today that they are officially ruling star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. out for Sunday’s game against the Titans.
#Giants coach Pat Shurmur has ruled out WR Odell Beckham Jr. for Sunday’s game against the #Titans. He’s still battling this quad issue.

Beckham is dealing with a mysterious quad injury that he sought a second opinion on this week. This is obviously a huge break for the Titans as they look to win a third straight and continue their push for a playoff spot. The Giants were just fine without Beckham last week in their 40-16 blowout of the Redskins last week, but that’s a Washington team that had quit before the game even started.
Replacing Beckham’s snaps at receiver across from Sterling Shepard will likely be a combination of Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, and Corey Coleman. I would also expect to see a heavy dose of tight end Evan Engram and breakout rookie running back Saquon Barkley in this game. The Titans linebackers and safeties will really need to do a nice job in coverage against those two.
The 5-8 Giants are still alive in the NFC playoff race somehow so this will still be a tough matchup for the Titans — especially on the road — but it just got a little bit easier.
