Packers-Lions Week 17 Injury Report: Adams & Alexander questionable for Sunday

Despite missing practice all week, Green Bay’s top receiver still has a chance to play and set a team record or two this Sunday.

No practice, no problem — that’s the hope for the Green Bay Packers when it comes to a few key players in week 17.

Wide receiver Davante Adams has not practiced all week as the team gets ready to play the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field this Sunday, but he still has a chance to play in the game. Adams was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report of the week due to the knee injury he suffered last Sunday against the New York Jets.

Adams is just two catches short of setting a new team single-season record for receptions. His 111 catches this year trail only the 112 receptions that Sterling Sharpe recorded back in 1993. Adams is also 134 yards short of breaking Jordy Nelson’s team season record of 1,519, though with the injury in play that particular record seems unlikely.

Rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander is in a similar situation to Adams in that he is questionable for Sunday’s game despite not practicing this week. He missed the entire second half last week with a groin injury, but may still suit up at Lambeau this weekend.

The Packers’ other questionable players seem likely to play this Sunday as well, particularly David Bakhtiari and Lane Taylor. Those two starters on the offensive line were both estimated as full participants in practice on Friday (the Packers do not practice on Fridays) and seem like good bets to play.

The most likely Packers to miss the game, however, are both in the concussion protocol. Wideout Equanimeous St. Brown has been out of practice all week, while Jason Spriggs practiced on a limited basis Thursday before being downgraded to an estimated non-participant on Friday. However, with Bryan Bulaga receiving no injury status on Friday, Spriggs’ likely absence should not be a major problem unless Bulaga is injured again.

The Lions, meanwhile, are going to be without one of their key defensive linemen. A’Shawn Robinson, the third-year tackle out of Alabama, has been ruled out for the game. His fellow tackle, Damon Harrison, is questionable, along with wideout Kenny Golladay and a trio of key defensive backs. UPDATE: The Lions placed Robinson on injured reserve on Friday afternoon, adding defensive lineman Mitchell Loewen on waivers from the Saints.

Here are the full reports for both teams as they prepare to close out the season on Sunday.
