Packers vs. Jets Q&A: Should New York fire Todd Bowles?

Michael Nania of SB Nation’s New York Jets blog Gang Green Nation explains whether the team should fire head coach Todd Bowles.

This Sunday, the Green Bay Packers play the against New York Jets in the final road game of their season. Michael Nania of Gang Green Nation was kind enough to answer some of our questions about the Jets and provide some insight into their strengths and weaknesses.

APC: Todd Bowles has spent most of the past two seasons on the hot seat and might receive his walking papers at the end of 2018. Do you think the Jets should fire Bowles, and if so who should replace him?

Absolutely. The Jets need to fire Todd Bowles and they will. The writing is on the wall.

The Jets need to finally take an offensive route at the HC spot, which they haven’t done in a while. However, John Harbaugh might shake free due to a mutual parting of ways in Baltimore. If he does, the Jets just need to go all out to try and bring him in. It’s rare for a coach of that high a quality to hit the market. If they can’t reel him in, they probably need to skip past the retread route and think bigger with a younger, up-to-date offensive mind who can develop Darnold and bring this ancient franchise up to speed. It’s easier said than done to find the next Sean McVay or Matt Nagy, but that is likely who the Jets will be looking for.

We’d like to thank Michael for his insight. Be sure to check out our Q&A session over at Gang Green Nation as well as their fantastic coverage of all things Jets. As always, keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company for our comprehensive game-day coverage of Packers versus Jets.
