The Los Angeles Rams are headed to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16, and for the first time in a long while Rams fans are going to need to pay attention to the injury report this week.
With the news that RB Todd Gurley tweaked his knee in the Rams’ Week 15 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, there was concern going in. Those concerns aren’t going to be allayed by today’s report:
Both Gurley and reserve RB Justin Davis were a no go today. With RB Malcolm Brown out for the season, the Rams waived WR/KR/PR Pharoh Cooper to make room for a new name in the running back room: RB C.J. Anderson.
Obviously, Anderson’s inclusion will depend on the physical readiness of Gurley and Davis as well as the team’s comfort level with rookie RB John Kelly as a ballcarrier beyond his skills in other running back responsibilities and special teams contributions.
