The Philadelphia Eagles came into Los Angeles and won for the second year in the row.
The Los Angeles Rams had a unique opportunity to get revenge for their loss against the Philadelphia Eagles last year at home. Instead, the Eagles prevailed again behind QB Nick Foles, winning 30-23 as questions start to rise about the Rams as the playoffs are around the corner.
The Eagles came into the season with high expectations and hopeful defense of their Super Bowl. On paper, the depth of almost all aspects of the team was deep. The QB room had the favorite for MVP and the Super Bowl MVP while the defensive line just had lineman after lineman after lineman that was considered to be good.
It was hard to pick only pick five players because the team had so much depth and the game really proved it out as some of the players (Nick Foles, Fletcher Cox) were studs while others didn’t live up to the hype (Nelson Agholor, Josh Adams). One didn’t even suit up (Jordan Hicks).
QB Nick Foles
Foles proved to be very efficient. Connecting on a couple deep shots and not really putting the ball on the ground, Foles finished the game with a 67.1 QBR on 24/31 passing for 270 yards.

Foles looked like the Super Bowl MVP and not the rough starter at the beginning of the year.
LB Jordan Hicks
Hicks actually didn’t even suit up for the game as he nurses his calf injury. This is the fourth game in a row he’s missed. In his absence, LBs Nigel Bradham (seven tackles) and Nathan Gerry (four tackles) stepped up.
WR Nelson Agholor
WR Agholor had a quiet game. Only targeted twice, Agholor caught one pass for eight yards while fellow receiver Alshon Jeffery had a monster game with eight catches for 160 yards.
There are no Agholor highlights but this was a great catch from his receiver-mate Jeffery.

DL Fletcher Cox
Cox was dominant, shoving Rams linemen all over the place. In the stat sheet, he recorded three total tackles, including a crucial sack that ended a promising drive.

Cox did leave the game but ultimately returned after being questionable with a hip injury.
RB Josh Adams
The rookie running back earned the start. While he wasn’t very efficient with his touches, Adams managed to find the end zone.

Adams had 15 carries for 28 yards (1.9 average) and a touchdown. After leaving the game with a back injury, the Eagles turned to Wendell Smallwood, who was much more efficient (10 carries for 48 yards and two touchdowns). Overall, the Rams did a good job in limiting Adams but still fell short in slowing down the Eagles overall as the team ran for 111 yards on 30 tries and three touchdowns.
