It was announced early Thursday morning by Adam Schefter that wide receiver Keenan Allen is now expected to play this Saturday when the Chargers host the Baltimore Ravens at StubHub Center.
Chargers’ WR Keenan Allen, who left last Thursday’s game vs. Chiefs with a hip pointer, is now expected to play Saturday night vs. Ravens, per source. Allen has look improved and ready at practice this week.

RB Melvin Gordon, who has been out with an MCL, also expected to play.
Allen, who left the game against the Chiefs after landing awkwardly on his hip in the end zone, was initially expected to miss multiple weeks.
After logging a limited practice on Wednesday, Allen looks to suit up and avoid missing his first game of the season. The Ravens entire defense is formidable. With their top-ranked run defense and their top-10 passing defense, there aren’t many weak spots in which to exploit.
Allen’s presence with be key to manipulating this defense as mismatches with the Raven’s slot corner and their linebackers may go along way, i.e., how Ken Whisenhunt found mismatches to get Allen 1-on-1 with Steelers’ linebacker LJ Fort several weeks ago.
