The New York Jets are pretty good on defense, but they have been gashed by receivers the last couple of weeks. The Patriots receivers got them for 13 catches and 211 yards last week. That might not seem like that big of a deal because, hey, the Patriots receivers are good, right? True, but the week before that the Bills receivers got them for 12 catches and 230 yards. You read that correctly, the Buffalo Bills receiver corps of Robert Foster, Zay Jones and Andre Holmes.
So the question for the Titans on Sunday is whether or not their receivers can take advantage of the problems the Jets have at corner. Corey Davis is developing into the #1 receiver the Titans drafted him to be. I don’t have a lot of questions remaining about him. The guys behind him, however, I have no idea what they will do from week to week. Those guys need to step up in this one.
It sounds like Taywan Taylor will be back for this one. He has been out since getting hurt in the Monday night game against the Cowboys. Can he make an impact on this game?
Tajae Sharpe has been on a milk carton since he had a really good game against the Chargers in London. Can they get something from him in this game?
Much like the rest of the team, the receivers have more questions than answers surrounding them.
The weapons on this team have been an issue all season long. The Titans aren’t out of the playoff mix yet, but they pretty much have to win out to have a chance at making the playoffs. To do that, they are going to have to have a Taywan Taylor or a Tajae Sharpe (or both) step up. That needs to start on Sunday.
