Wednesday injury report: Tyler Boyd sidelined, Joe Mixon limited

Vontaze Burfict also returned a day after Malik Jefferson went on injured reserve.

Most of the best remaining players the Bengals have left on offense were listed in some capacity on Wednesday’s injury report.

Tyler Boyd did not practice and could very well not practice again this season. It was revealed on Monday that Boyd and suffered a sprained MCL against the Raiders and it caused him to exit the game for good. Joining him as an offensive starter to miss practice was Alex Redmond, who should be back soon if he’s just recovering from an illness.

The rest of the injured offensive players were just limited, but only one was due to a previous injury. Cordy Glenn missed the previous three games prior to this past Sunday with a back injury and went limited today perhaps as a precaution to his full recovery.

Joe Mixon, who was announced as an alternate to the Pro Bowl, was listed with a wrist injury and also went limited. Along with Mixon, John Ross is apparently dealing with knee injury. If neither Boyd or Ross can play, the Bengals’ offense would be without all of their original starting receivers from the beginning of the season.

On defense, the linebackers were playing with a few men down. Jordan Evans did not practice as he is still dealing with the ankle injury he suffered against the Raiders. Jefferson was listed as a non-participant, but he went on on injured reserve just yesterday. Vontaze Burfict went limited for the first time in two weeks since he left the Bengals’ Week 13 game against the Broncos for a concussion.

Cornerbacks Tony McRae and KeiVarae Russell are dealing with a hamstring and a finger injury. respectively. McRae did not participate, while Russell was a full participant.

As for the Browns, starters Larry Ogunjobi (Biceps) and J.C. Tretter (Ankle) did not go today, and also starting tight end David Njoku was limited with a what’s being coined a knee/thigh injury.
