NFL Media draft expert has the Buccaneers addressing the defense first.
In late January for the last 11 years, it has been draft season in Tampa Bay. One can only hope that playoff drought will soon come to an end, but lets be honest, everyone loves them some mock drafts.
NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks released his first mock draft this offseason and his pick could come as a surprise to some Buccaneer fans.
With the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Devin White, linebacker, LSU.
Now, the reason I say this may come as a surprise is because many people expect Kwon Alexander to be back with the team, but if the Buccaneers opt to go a different direction, White does indeed make a ton of sense. Outside of Lavonte David, the Buccaneers don’t have a sure thing under contract at linebacker next season.
Look at what happened to the Colts defense after they drafted Darius Leonard at linebacker. There whole defense turned around.
I would be okay with this pick if the Buccaneers didn’t resign Kwon, but if they do, this pick would make little sense.
