Let the games begin!
Today, begins the first of many head coaching interviews for the Miami Dolphins.
And it appears that Chris Grier and Stephen Ross, are going to do their due diligence when finding the Dolphins next head coach. Currently, there are six candidates that the team has shown significant interest in.
Those six candidates include; Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Kris Richards, Patriots’ defensive coordinator Brian Flores, Steelers’ offensive line coach Mike Munchak, Bears’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Dolphins’ special teams coach Darren Rizzi.
Per Albert Breer of the MMQB, the Miami Dolphins will interview Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy later today.
Per sources, Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy is interviewing for Buccaneers and Jets HC jobs today in KC. Will also interview with Dolphins, likely tomorrow.

Bieniemy, 49, joined the Chiefs back in 2013 as a running backs coach. At the beginning of this season, Bieniemy became the team’s offensive coordinator, after Matt Nagy took the Chicago Bears head coaching job.
Prior to his stint in Kansas City, Bienemy was a running backs’ coach at Colorado (2001-2002), UCLA (2003-2005) and the Minnesota Vikings (2006-2010). In 2011 he became offensive coordinator at Colorado, before making the jump to Kansas City in 2013.
Bieniemy finished third in the Heisman trophy race in 1991. He was drafted in the second-round (39th-overall) by the San Diego Chargers. He also played for the Cincinnati Bengals (1995-1998) and the Philadelphia Eagles (1999)
Admittedly, Bieniemy is a bit of an uncertainty. But as we’ve seen in the past, the Andy Reid coaching tree continues to pump out some of the best coaches in the league.
It’s also worth noting, that after Interviewing Bieniemy—which fulfills the league’s Rooney rule—the Dolphins could then reach an agreement with potential candidates.
