The Arizona Cardinals get Josh Allen in Lance Zierlein’s first mock of 2019.
With the top voices in the NFL Draft community beginning to release their first mock drafts of the cycle, we have seen three different opinions on who should go first for the Arizona Cardinals.
Yesterday, we saw Bucky Brooks had the Arizona Cardinals taking Nick Bosa, CBS Sports had the Cardinals taking Quinnen Williams and now Lance Zierlein, the man behind the scouting reports on NFL.com has the Arizona Cardinals going in a different direction.
1 Josh Allen - Edge
School: Kentucky | Year: Senior
The Cardinals are moving back to a 3-4 front. Allen offers elite size and rush talent off the edge to fit perfectly opposite Chandler Jones.
Allen was the highest graded edge player from Pro Football Focus in 2018, and had a massive statistical season.
After two straight seasons with seven sacks, Allen exploded with 17 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss, both were more than he had accumulated in three seasons at Kentucky.
The rest of Zierlein’s top ten is actually incredibly interesting:
- Arizona Cardinals - Josh Allen, LB, Kentucky
- San Francisco 49ers - Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan
- New York Jets - Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
- Oakland Raiders - Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama
- New York Giants - Daniel Jones, QB, Duke
- Jacksonville Jaguars - Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
- Detroit Lions - Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State
- Buffalo Bills - D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
- Denver Broncos - Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
This is crazy to see Zierlein go with four quarterbacks in the top ten, meaning it would match last years class.
This is shaping up to be a crazy 2019 NFL Draft.
