Time to nominate the best performances from the Lions this season.
It’s that time of year. The NFL will announce their post-season awards on Saturday, but we here at Pride of Detroit like to hand out hardware of our own... well, metaphorical hardware.
It’s time for the Pride of Detroit Awards or the PODies. Each year, we “give out” awards to the most deserving Lions players and coaches, honoring the best and most notable performances from the 2018 season. Sure, the season was a big disappointment by just about every standard, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate individual players or specific moments.
So today will be the nomination process. In the comment section below, give your nominations for the following categories. You can nominate as many people as you want, and the top nominations will make our final voting process. Here are the categories:
- MVP
- Offensive Player of the Year
- Defensive Player of the Year
- Special Teams Player of the Year
- Rookie of the Year
- Breakout Player of the Year
- Game of the Year
- Play of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Pride of Detroit Moment of the Year (site specific)
And just for reference sake, here’s a look at least year’s winners.
