He will likely be the Broncos Offensive Coordinator in 2019.
According to multiple reports including 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos finally received permission to interview 49ers Quarterback’s coach Rich Scangarello for their vacant Offensive Coordinator position.

The Broncos initially asked for permission to interview Scangarello last week, but multiple reports indicated that the 49ers declined that request. However, many reports also indicated that the Broncos were not giving up and had hopes that they could work something out. So it appears that the John’s(Elway and Lynch) came to some sort of agreement to allow them to interview one of 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan’s top assistants for their Offensive Coordinator position.
Scangarello has learned under Shanahan the past two seasons and is known for his eye for quarterback talent and quarterback development. His development of Nick Mullens earned him praise throughout the league and Scangarello is also responsible for discovering Mullens.
The Broncos obviously have a huge need at quarterback and will lean on him to help find and develop the teams next “Quarterback of the future”.
It is likely that Scangarello will be hired by the Broncos for their Offensive Coordinator position. The Broncos fought hard for him and it appears he was their top choice all along so I expect this to get done.
Vic Fangio’s staff is starting to take shape and could be adding a young offensive mind to his staff.
