Kubes is off to Minnesota
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gary Kubiak will join the Minnesota Vikings in an offensive advisory role. He had an interview lined up with the Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow, but that is obviously no longer on the table.
Vikings hiring former Broncos’ HC Gary Kubiak in an offensive advisory role, per a league source. Kubiak’s son, Klint, is expected to become Vikings’ QB coach and Kevin Stefanski will remain as Vikings’ OC.

His son Klint Kubiak will reportedly follow him as well and serve as the teams Quarterback’s coach. Kevin Stefanski who the Vikings recently hired as their Offensive Coordinator will remain with the team in that role. Kubiak will just assist him going forward.
Kubiak is now gone from the Broncos once again after having a positive impact on their Front Office this past season. It is unclear how much of a hand he had in his past draft class, but it was the Broncos best rookie class in quite awhile. In fact, the Broncos past few classes were major busts prior to this, so his addition certainly helped a little. His eye for talent has never been questioned. So it will be interesting to see how the Broncos fair moving forward.
This is now a done deal: Gary Kubiak is joining the #Vikings staff. Exact title TBD, but to reiterate, Kevin Stefanski is the OC. Stefanski knows Gary and is very tight with Kubiak’s son, Klint, who’s expected to return as QBs coach. A great match for everyone. https://t.co/bbEsxxor57

Now he will look to help get a Vikings offense going that struggled to get anything really going in 2018 and a unit that really struggled on the ground for most of the season. He will have Kirk Cousins who learned and flourished in Mike Shanahan’s system, the same system that Kubiak runs. He will also have a chance to reunite with his former pet project Trevor Siemian who was traded to the Vikings last year. Siemian will be a free agent this offseason, but Kubiak’s presence could persuade him to re-sign with the Vikings.
In the end, Kubiak’s time with the Broncos is over. They are heading in a new direction and beginning a new culture led by newly hired Head Coach Vic Fangio and Offensive Line coach Mike Munchak.
