Kareem Hunt is a hard runner with obvious receiving ability, and he doesn’t make mistakes with the football. In 782 carries (and an additional 73 touches on receptions) in college, Hunt fumbled once. In his first ever drive with the Chiefs as a rookie, he fumbled, but hasn’t since. That would be one fumble on 546 touches in the pros. Since his freshman year in college, Hunt has two fumbles on 1401 touches. That is incredible. From a front office standpoint, the Eagles are potentially going to be in line to receive compensatory picks for the losses of guys like Nick Foles, Brandon Graham, Ronald Darby, and others this offseason. Because Hunt was released by the Chiefs, he would not count toward the compensatory pick formula, so he would not offset a draft pick earned for outgoing free agents.
What the Eagles should do at running back - BGN
The Eagles ranked 30th in rushing yards per play in 2018. They clearly need to upgrade their running back talent. It was rumored the Eagles had interest in trading for Le’Veon Bell before the 2018 trade deadline but that never happened. Interestingly enough, Bell told ESPN he believes the Eagles are one of the teams that want to sign him in free agency. I just can’t see the Eagles spending big money on a free agent running back but the previous buzz makes Bell worth mentioning. Kareem Hunt is reportedly expected to be playing in 2019. From an on-field perspective, Hunt makes a ton of sense for Philly. The off-field issues could easily be a deal-breaker for the Eagles, though. Tevin Coleman or T.J. Yeldon could make sense as guys who fit in a rotation-based system.

That’s the outline with Foles. The Eagles say they haven’t made any concrete decisions except that they are committed to Carson Wentz as the quarterback moving forward. It would be very, very difficult to envision Foles remaining an Eagle as a backup at $20 million or $25 million for 2019. So, what do the Eagles do if they trade Foles or allow him to become an unrestricted free agent? This is where it becomes more layered. Wentz has a lot of work to do in the offseason. He needs to get healthy. He needs to step back and get some downtime, because he hasn’t had any since prior to the 2017 season. He’s been grinding since then, and it’s been mentally and physically exhausting as he’s come back from a knee injury and now a back injury. It will be good for Wentz to have some weeks in the offseason to relax and then return to the NovaCare Complex and have a full offseason conditioning program during which he will develop chemistry with what could be a significantly changed locker room – more on that in the weeks ahead – and further his bond with the players returning. A fresh start, if you will, will do everyone good.

Gotta start with Montez Sweat. The Mississippi State EDGE did exactly what he’s done all season: he won with power, length, and initial explosion. Oooh baby! Did it look like everything we’ve already seen on tape, or what? He’s a riser for sure.

Buffalo’s Anthony Johnson was super productive during college career. This might be one snap, but it is very indicative of his play style - assertive. Perhaps his testing will tell us differently, but I doubt Johnson posts a top end athletic profile. Therefore he must be comfortable in contact, and that certainly shows in this clip. He creates a sliver of separation in every phase. Wanting to be the hammer on contact is not a mentality many receivers carry, yet it allows Johnson to win. Anthony Miller had this same trait last year. As I said leading into the week, David Sills’ West Virginia games showcase a receiver who constantly wins big. On Tuesday, he showed that again.

Sources connected to Franzen tell us ... he walked over to say hi and that’s when Elliott and some of his crew got aggressive and things started to pop off.

It was pretty clear after seeing Alex Smith out in public for the first time since his devastating leg injury, that the veteran will likely not be ready to suit up in 2019...if ever. Regardless if Alex does attempt to make a return to the playing field, the Redskins need to start planning for the future at the position. Lock offers the team a prototype quarterback with plus size, a cannon for an arm and sneaky athleticism (he held D1 scholarship offers for basketball coming out of high school). He may have to sit and learn for a while behind a veteran like Colt McCoy, but his development is much further along than many draft pundits are giving him credit for.

Spagnuolo served as a defensive assistant (1999-2000), defensive backs coach (2001-2003) and linebackers coach (2004-2006) under Andy Reid while he was the the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles (1999-2012). Reid admitted to offering Spagnuolo a role prior to his final year as Eagles head coach (2012), but Spagnuolo opted to take the Saints defensive coordinator instead.

Details surrounding McCoy’s benching have remained vague up until his recent appearance on ESPN’s First Take. On the show, co-host Max Kellerman asked McCoy why he didn’t start Week 16 against the Patriots. “I think the honest truth about that is I was late for going to the bus to the game. You know, one thing about McDermott is he’s fair. I’m a captain. He handed me full responsibility for it,” added McCoy. He then went on to say that “everyone has the same rules” and that his benching was “fair”.
DeSean Jackson says he hasn’t talked to Arians - Bucs Nation
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians was reportedly trying to reach out to wide receiver DeSean Jackson in what was an attempt to keep him in Tampa Bay. But as you can see and hear in the video below, Jackson says he hasn’t spoken to Arians. TMZ caught up with Jackson at LAX where he was asked a few questions including if he wants to return to the Bucs where he said that’s what he has an agent for. And as for the “situation” being fixed in Tampa Bay, Jackson responded by saying, “I don’t know. We’ll see.”

Early last March, the Miami Dolphins decided to release Ndamukong Suh in what was characterized as an effort to effect “culture change” on the team in teal in South Florida. Dante Fowler, who was the third overall pick in the 2015 draft, was traded away by the Jacksonville Jaguars in late October in the middle of his fourth season in the league. It was pretty clear at that point that the Jaguars had given Fowler all of the opportunities they were willing to give him, and that they were finally ready to move on. Both of those guys were deemed expendable by their former teams for different reasons, but with their respective abilities, the Los Angeles Rams saw two players who could have a major impact on their defense.
