Winners and losers from the 2019 Senior Bowl

The Senior Bowl is tomorrow, but who won and lost during the practice week?

With the 2019 Senior Bowl practices basically a wrap, and the game on deck tomorrow, let’s take a look at some of the winners and losers from the week that was.

Winners

Montez Sweat - Maybe the best name of the week. Sweat was a consistent among all onlookers as standing out and made it known he was there to show off his ability. He was a terror in one on ones and maybe did as much as anyone to correct his stock within the draft community. If Sweat was the unstoppable force...

Andre Dillard - Was the immovable object. No player had any success against the monster that Sweat was outside of Dillard, who had some of the better reps against the Mississippi State defensive end. Dillard showed he not only has the size, a hair under 6-5 311lbs, with 34 inch arms, Dillard was a man amongst boys this week.

Wide Receivers - If you pull up any winners and losers or daily notes from the week, you’ll see a cavalcade of different receivers who played well this week. From my group text alone, we had a list of seven guys who stole the show from three different observers. When you break it down, the receivers were great in an environment that is conducive to them being great.

Arizona Cardinals - The Cardinals are winners because of what looks to be a plethora of receiver talent in this draft. From day one through day three and into undrafted free agency, the Cardinals should have a nice chance to break the curse of not being able to draft talent at the WR position.

Losers

Quarterbacks - Now, this isn’t to say anyone within this group was truly bad, no instead it is to say that this group showed the problems with the class overall, there just isn’t top end talent. That means...

Arizona Cardinals - The Cardinals are also losers because it showed that there really is not a market to trade up to the first overall pick. Unless someone thinks Dwayne Haskins or Kyler Murray is worth it, this class seems to fall in line more with 2014, where teams will wait to see if the quarterback they like will be available, rather than 2016, 2017 and 2018 where teams were aggressively willing to move up.
