One former Bill made a huge play this week.
Week three of the Alliance of American Football has gone by, which means we can check back in with notable former Buffalo Bills who had decent performances in the four games this past weekend.
Linebacker A.J. Tarpley had a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown that helped the San Diego Fleet cruise to a 31-11 victory over the San Antonio Commanders. Cornerback Ron Brooks had another quiet game for the team, with just one total tackle throughout the course of the contest.
Receiver Kaelin Clay got his name into the stat sheet for the first time this season with a couple catches for 27 yards in the Salt Lake Stallion’s 23-15 victory over the Arizona Hotshots. In the same game, punter Austin Rehkow continued his strong season averaging almost 47 yards on six punts in the contest. Also, quarterback Josh Woodrum (who spent part of the 2017 offseason in Buffalo) passed for 178 yards and two touchdowns. On the other sideline, Rashad Ross was Arizona’s leading receiver with over 50 yards.
Quarterback Matt Simms had a good day passing with over 300 yards, but his offense could not put points on the board as the Atlanta Legends only scored 12 points on the afternoon. Opposite him was punter Colton Schmidt, who has been keeping up with Rekow, averaging 47 yards a punt—but he only punted four times in the game.
