Our adopted team appears to have a tough task ahead of them
With the opening week of action in the books, the Alliance of American Football is hoping that the excitement of opening weekend will carry over into Week 2 with four more games.
After playing the last game of opening weekend, our adopted team, the Salt Lake Stallions, will be playing the first game of Week 2. They’ll be on the road once again, as they’ll head to Birmingham, Alabama to take on the Birmingham Iron. The Iron had a very impressive start to their season, as they pitched a shutout against the Memphis Express, winning at home by a score of 26-0.
Some of the more familiar names on the Iron squad are former #3 overall pick Trent Richardson, who had two touchdowns in Week 1, and former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton, who went over the 100-yard mark in the opener. As far as former Minnesota Vikings, the lone player on the roster with purple ties is defensive back Jack Tocho.
The game between the Iron and the Stallions will kick off at 1:00 PM Central time, and it will be aired on TNT. (Oy! Oy! Oy!)
The rest of the Week 2 AAF schedule looks like this:
Saturday, 16 February, 7:00 PM Central time - Arizona Hotshots (1-0) vs Memphis Express (0-1), NFL Network
Sunday, 17 February, 3:00 PM Central time - Orlando Apollos (1-0) vs San Antonio Commanders (1-0), CBS Sports Network
Sunday, 17 February, 7:00 PM Central time - Atlanta Legends (0-1) vs San Diego Fleet (0-1), NFL Network
Will you be watching Week 2 of the AAF, folks?
