Daily Links: Joey Bosa isn’t watching the Super Bowl

Your daily dose of Los Angeles Chargers news & notes from around the web.

Joey Bosa explains why he won’t watch the Super Bowl but is rooting for the Patriots - Kyle Posey
Bosa said he doesn’t watch much football because it feels like work. He said “it’s not fun to me. It’s like watching film. Breaking down people. I can’t just watch it as a fan anymore.” Bosa tends to go into coach mode and critique players as opposed to simply enjoying the game. Many people that are invested in the game to the degree Bosa is have the same difficulties. It’s understandable.

Walsh and Gibbs: From Chargers OCs to the Hall of Fame - Chris Hayre
“Dan Fouts – when we spoke about Bill Walsh, he shook his head as if it was yesterday because he loved having Bill Walsh as his offensive coordinator. (He) absolutely loved him. He says, ‘You know, I was in danger of being traded or even released until Walsh came into my life.’ And I’m listening to him and I’m like, ‘Whoa, I mean, I just don’t know this kind of stuff.’

Prime NFL cut candidates in the 2019 offseason - Michael Renner
He’s still only 29, but Liuget has managed only 611 snaps over the past two seasons. In six games this season, he notched all of 10 pressures. Cutting him would save the Chargers $8 million in space.

Jeff Ratcliffe's 10 favorite prop bets for the Super Bowl - Jeff Ratcliffe
Essentially, it’s the same thing you do in fantasy sports, but with one key difference. Unlike in fantasy where you can score the second-most points in your league for the week only to lose to the team who scored the most points, your outcomes are much more black and white in player prop betting. Either you’re right or your wrong, and you only need to beat the house.

Derwin James finishes second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting - Travis Wakeman
James was outstanding in his own right. He finished the year with 105 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three interceptions while also deflecting 13 other passes. He showed the Chargers that he can line up and play all over the field and should be a dynamic force for many years in the defensive backfield.

Melvin Gordon Calls Himself 'The Best Running Back in LA' |- Kyle Newport
"Facts," Gordon told TMZ Sports when asked if felt he was the best running back in L.A. "Facts. Facts. Facts. Facts."
