Detroit is one of five candidates to be chosen this season.
Every season HBO’s Hard Knocks goes behind the scenes into an NFL team’s training camp and documents their journey from the first day of camp until the final preparations for the season opener.
Last season the Cleveland Browns were the team featured and we got a few amazing moments, such as defensive lineman Carl Nassib’s investment advice to his fellow linemen.
please do not take his advice everything he said is wrong
The Detroit Lions are one of five NFL teams eligible to be selected for this years edition because of the league’s odd selection criteria. NFL.com’s Dan Hanzus gave us a rundown on Friday:
Teams can avoid mandatory inclusion on “Hard Knocks” if they fall under any of three exemptions:
1) They have a first-year head coach.
2) They have a playoff berth in the past two seasons.
3) They have appeared on “Hard Knocks” in the past 10 years.
Detroit has never appeared on the show before and are now two years removed from their 2016 playoff berth.
While the final selection is up the NFL and HBO, General Manager Bob Quinn made it clear earlier this week he wants no part in the show.
The team’s opinion on the matter is set in stone, but what do you think? Do you want the Detroit Lions to be featured on Hard Knocks this season?
For me, the answer is yes.
While it may lead to some competitive disadvantages, getting and inside look into the organization will be fun. Who knows what kind of financial advice is passes between players inside the walls of Lions HQ.
Unfortunately for me, and fortunately for Quinn, Hanzus ranked Detroit as the lease likely team to be selected for the show. This means we will probably have to wait another year to learn about investing from our boys in Honolulu blue.
What do you think?
