What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Don’t be a Jets fan. I didn’t listen.

If you could grab lunch with anybody in the past, present or future—dead or alive, who would it be and why? It would be Leonardo DiVinci and I would have a lot of questions for him.

If you were stranded on a deserted island for the rest of forever, which musical artist would you be listening to, and which television series would you be watching? If I were stranded on a deserted island, I would listen to Sia. I just really like Sia. For a TV show, I’d probably watch Man vs. Wild because I would need all the help I could get to avoid dying in the first 1 or 2 minutes.

How did you become a Jets fan? As a small child, we lived next door to the Jets GM at the time, Dick Steinberg. They held a barbeque for the team and I got to throw the ball around with most of the team. Unfortunately, I can’t remember it as I was very young and my memory isn’t great, but...what was I talking about? Oh yeah, that was the main reason I became a fan. Also, my favorite color is green and my name starts with a J, so they were a natural fit for a 4 year old from New York.

What’s your favorite Jets memory? What about your most painful Jets memory? My favorite Jets memory has to be the road playoff win against the Patriots in 2010. Can’t wait! The most painful is easily the Thanksgiving loss to the Patriots in 2012. Not only was the butt fumble horribly embarrassing for the team, but the Jets fumbled 3 times and gave up 21 points in under a minute. A real low point.

In your humble opinion, who is the most dominant Jet to ever play and why? The most dominant Jet to ever play would have to be Darrelle Revis. He may go down as the most dominant player to ever play his position and probably would have a longer run if not for a very unfortunate non-contact injury. He’s definitely not my favorite Jet, but he was one of the GOATs and I can’t say that about any other longtime Jets.

Who is your favorite Jets player and why? My all time favorite Jet is Wayne Chrebet. He’s a tough guy not to root for, in part because he’s a tough guy. He would take a slant into two defenders and get demolished. Then he’d pop up, talk some smack with the guy who hit him, and get right back to work. He’d even start the occasional skirmish with a 350lb defensive lineman, because he’s Wayne freaking Chrebet. An undrafted player who went on to have a solid career, as a career Jet no less. I also ran into him once and he seemed like a pretty solid guy.

If Woody Johnson handed you a blank check and gave you a choice to be a part of the New York Jets organization in any capacity, which position would you choose, and why? (It could be GM, Head Coach, Quarterback, Linebacker, Head of Scouting, Waterboy—the sky is the limit). I would choose to be GM because I would be the worst player of all time and I have no experience coaching a team. I have an MBA and a basic law/finance background, so managing cap and cash spending would probably be a good fit for me.

Mike Maccagnan and Todd Bowles get fired after the season and Woody Johnson decides to name you the next GM, giving you one very clear goal: win the Super Bowl within the next 4 years. What is your strategy to make the Jets a Super Bowl winner? What is your strategy to build this team into a perennial Super Bowl contender? Well the first thing I’d do is invest as much as possible of my GM salary because I’d expect to be out of work in about 4 years. With the pieces in place, a Jets GM needs to target a pure edge rusher and offensive linemen across the board. Drafting a young wideout on day 1 or 2 of the draft in the next couple of years would be a priority as well to ensure Darnold has a quality X receiver to grow with over the coming years. I don’t think there’s a quick fix, but it’ll all come down to drafting well.
