Your President’s Day thread is up and running
Happy Monday, everyone!
So, I have the day off today. This is something that was implemented only recently at my place of employment. It feels kinda odd, like I’m playing hooky from work. It just doesn’t feel like a holiday to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I’m thankful for the extra day to play some legos and do some of the other important life activities. It’s just an odd feeling, like I’m doing something wrong (I’d better not go outside or someone might see me & call my employer). Anyway, if you’re working today.......ummm.....attaboy, keep up the good work! Or something.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris mocks a second time, and brings you Chris’ Minnesota Vikings Mock 2.0.
Lucas Ailport looks ahead and recommends that the Vikes re-sign Mackensie Alexander and Trae Waynes.
Chris shared Bill Barnwell’s off-season suggestions to the Vikings.
Hot Air Balloons and football games are a bad idea, per Chris. I’d be careful if you’re riding in Tom Brady’s balloon, it’s probably under-inflated.
In a Fanpost, medicineball looks at some milestones for the Vikings to achieve in 2019.
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:
At Vikings.com, Kevin Seifert joins Wobby to discuss the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine, the Vikings coaching staff, and what they may do to fix the O-line.
CBS Sports looks at the top 30 players who could be available free agents this off-season.
We come to today’s media selection:
Here’s a great one from a guy who put out some great stuff, but was never one of the mainstream favorites. Now that I think about it, the fact that he put out some great music is likely why he was never a mainstream fave.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
- No discussion of politics or religion
- No feeding of the trolls
- This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
- Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
- Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
- No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
- If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
- While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the head cheese.
