My favorite Patriots Super Bowl memory: “She knew right there our fandom was serious”

Ryan Spagnoli writes about his favorite Super Bowl memory.

With the Super Bowl only three days away, the Pats Pulpit staff is traveling down memory lane to share it most cherished memories of the New England Patriots’ previous 10 title games. Today, we’ll continue the series with Ryan Spagnoli’s favorite moment: New England coming back from a 25-point third quarter deficit two years ago.

My favorite Super Bowl memory would have to be from Super Bowl 51 when the Patriots came back from 28-3 against the Falcons.

One of my best friends, whom I became very close friends with in high school and now attends the same college with me (I’m graduating this May), and I have watched every single playoff game together on the same exact 48 inch Sony Bravia TV since the 2014 run when New England came back to beat the Ravens.

We watch with large groups of our friends but make sure we are always watching every playoff game together. Basically our reason for this is totally a superstition thing since they have ‘rarely’ lost since 2014 in the playoffs and we know every year before the postseason not to make other plans because the Pats need us watching together and the good luck we provide!

The emotional roller coaster that game took us and I’m sure every Pats fan worldwide on was incredible. And it was also the first time my girlfriend of now three years saw me react to a Super Bowl win — so she knew right there that our fandom was serious.
