Ravens receive a third-round compensatory pick for the 2019 NFL Draft

Last season, the Ravens lost WR Mike Wallace and C Ryan Jensen to free agency. Now, the team receives a third-round compensatory pick for the loss of Jensen.

Mike Wallace did qualify for the compensatory selection, even with the Philadelphia Eagles’ GM Howie Roseman attempting to get creative with his contract to bypass the deal. Due to Wallace’s signing, the Eagles will receive only one sixth-round compensatory selection instead of two. Wallace would have brought a seventh-round compensatory pick to the Ravens, but he missed the cutoff by a single spot.

Like I said, this is great news for the Ravens. Acquiring an extra third-round pick, in a draft without their second-round pick as part of the Lamar Jackson trade, is a great pick-up. DeCosta gets to look over the Top 100 prospects list and see if anybody falls a few spots further than expected. They can go after another player or build another trade to jump up or drop down if they desire, seeing as trading comp picks was allowed in 2017.
