NFL Football is over, but that doesn’t mean that Panthers fans are out of rooting interests until the draft. This weekend is the NBA All-Star weekend and Carolina hero Steve Smith will be playing basketball on ESPN. While snubbed from the actual All-Star roster on account of “not playing in the NBA,” Smith will represent the Carolinas on the home team for the celebrity game.
I’ll be honest, they could be playing cricket and I would still watch this game. Any chance to see one of the most competitive athletes in the history of the Carolina Panthers suit up and compete in an even mildly athletic challenge is appointment viewing. Smith is all fire and heart, so you can only imagine what it is going to be like to watch him channel his inner Muggsy Bogues against a team of actors, “influencers,” and comedians.
The game will be played at 7:00 PM EST in Charlotte’s Bojangles Coliseum this Friday, February 15th. ESPN will carry the broadcast of the game, so you don’t have to go out of your way to watch Smith’s performance.
