Two Ravens listed in the top 101 players from the 2018 season by Pro Football Focus

With the 2018 NFL season officially in the books, Pro Football Focus is unveiling their top 101 players from the year. Among those including are cornerback Marlon Humphrey and guard Marshal Yanda from the Baltimore Ravens.

Yanda appears at number 99, making his seventh appearance on the top 101 players list. Yanda was the most consistent player on Baltimore’s offensive line in 2018, rarely making mistakes in pass protection while also often providing huge assistance to both the center and right tackle positions. Regarding Yanda, the PFF experts wrote:

“Yanda battled back from his 2017 ankle injury to log the most snaps among guards in the 2018 regular season at 1,162. Including the postseason, he earned the fourth-highest overall grade among guards at 75.2, allowing just 15 total pressures and zero sacks.”

With Yanda turning 35 to start the 2019 season, many have wondered if the Ravens will move on from the All Pro veteran under new General Manager Eric DeCosta. Under contract until 2020, Yanda will make $10,125,222 next season, with $3,125,222 in dead money if released. With help needed along the interior of the offensive line already, Baltimore will most likely keep their best lineman despite the cap hit and his age, given he is still one of the best guards in the entire league.

Following shortly after at number 97 is Humphrey:

“The second-year cornerback out of Alabama improved on his stellar rookie season with an overall grade of 80.0 in 2018. His 52.5% catch rate allowed was the seventh-best in the league this season, and his 22.5% forced incompletion rate was third-best.”

Humphrey was the team’s best cornerback in 2018 and was voted team MVP by Baltimore media. Humphrey is clearly one of the Ravens core stars moving forward, and with three years remaining on his rookie contract, he is one of the best values on the entire roster. If Humphrey continues to ascend in his third season, he could very well join the conversation of the NFL’s elite corners.
