The Philadelphia Eagles are adding another running back to their position group. The Eagles have acquired Jordan Howard in a trade with the Chicago Bears, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, which the Eagles confirmed. Schefter says the Bears are receiving a sixth-round pick in 2020 as part of the deal that can become a fifth-rounder. The Bears had been shopping Howard and found a taker in Philadelphia. The deal makes sense for both sides. Chicago has Tarik Cohen and Mike Davis and wanted to get something before losing Howard in free agency. Philly really doesn’t have a No. 1 back and is more or less collecting decent options like Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement, Josh Adams and Donnel Pumphrey. Howard had 935 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He had 1,122 and 1,313 yards in the two previous seasons and may end up being the feature back in Philly.
