Broncos decide not to tender wide receiver Jordan Taylor

The Denver Broncos have decided not to place a tender on restricted free agent wide receiver Jordan Taylor.

The Denver Broncos have decided not to put a tender on restricted free agent and fourth-year wide receiver Jordan Taylor. Taylor has recovered from double hip surgery that knocked him out for the entire 2018 season, but the team is ready to move on.

Taylor, 27, entered the league as an undrafted free agent and quickly gained notoriety during his rookie year helping Peyton Manning come back from a foot injury. Ultimately, that work led to Manning rejoining the starting lineup and a Super Bowl championship.

With 29 receptions for 351 yards and two touchdowns in 2016-17, it looked like Taylor was poised to push for a larger role on the Broncos offense. The hip surgery and missing an entire season put those hopes on hold. He’ll enter 2019 as a free agent and will look to catch on with another team.

The Broncos have three other RFA’s to consider placing tenders on with quarterback Kevin Hogan, defensive end Shelby Harris, and long snapper Casey Kreiter. Of those, I am absolutely certain they will tender Harris who had himself a breakout season in 2018. Kreiter is also coming off a Pro Bowl appearance and may get one as well.
