Allen Hurns’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said today that the Cowboys haven't asked his client to take a pay cut or restructure his contract yet — but that doesn’t mean it isn’t coming. “It is only a matter of time” before the Cowboys ask the wideout to take a pay cut, a source told Clarence Hill Jr. of The Forth Worth Star-Telegram (Twitter link.) The Cowboys exercised Hurns’ 2019 option recently but apparently don’t want to pay him that salary. Hurns signed a two-year, $12M deal with Dallas last offseason, and is slated to have a cap hit of $6.25M next season. Given his level of production last season, it’s not surprising the Cowboys want to reduce that rate. With Dez Bryant gone, Hurns was expected to compete for one of the Cowboys’ top receiving jobs after Dallas signed him away from Jacksonville. But Hurns never showed much chemistry with QB Dak Prescott and quickly got buried on the depth chart after the emergence of rookie Michael Gallup and the trade for Amari Cooper. Hurns caught 20 passes for 295 yards
