Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie making NFL comeback

The former Giant is coming out of retirement

Former New York Giant Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is coming back to the NFL.

Last season, the veteran corner abruptly retired mid-season as a member of the Oakland Raiders. Rodgers-Cromartie lasted seven games, only registering eight tackles in that span. The 32-year-old decided Thursday he was not ready to hang up his cleats for good.

During his 11-year career, Rodgers-Cromartie played more games for the Giants than any other team. After joining the team in 2014, he suited up for 61 games while compiling 193 tackles and 11 interceptions. The versatile corner played a number of different roles with the Giants, but earned Second -Team All-Pro as a slot corner in 2016. He additionally earned Pro Bowl honors in 2015.

DRC also spent time with the Cardinals, Eagles, Broncos, and finally the Raiders after being drafted 16th overall out of Tennessee State in 2008. During the 2018 offseason Rodgers-Cromartie was cut from the Giants, leading to his transition to Oakland.
