Gang Green Nation Reader Spotlight: The Wilk Man Delivers

Below is the next installment of our Reader Spotlight, if you’d like to have your own FEATURED post, click here, and email me your answers to the questions, as well as a photo of yourself to samlsheryll@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing your responses!

Gang Green Nation Reader Spotlight: The Wilk Man Delivers

The Basics:

What’s your name and/or username? The Wilk Man Delivers

What city/state do you live in? I live right outside of Detroit, Michigan, where I’m a cop, but grew up in Queens.

How old are you? 30 years old.

The Miscellaneous:

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? ”If you have nothing smart to say, don’t say anything” - My dad.

If you could grab lunch with anybody in the past, present or future—dead or alive, who would it be and why? I want to take every living first responder that survived the September 11 attacks to lunch.

If you were stranded on a deserted island for the rest of forever, which musical artist would you be listening to, and which television series would you be watching? I’m listening to Queen and watching The Office.

The Jets Related Questions:

How did you become a Jets fan? My Dad’s a Jets fan, and my role model. I wanted to be just like him.

What’s your favorite Jets memory? What about your most painful Jets memory? Favorite memory is the playoff win against the Pats. Still remember going crazy when David Harris picked off Brady. Most painful is Vinny Testaverde going down week 1. Just knew times were changing for the worse.

In your humble opinion, who is the most dominant Jet to ever play and why? Darrelle Revis in 2009 and 2010, nobody was doing anything against him. Total catches and yards for the season against him would equal one good game for a receiver.

Who is your favorite Jets player and why? Current: Jamal Adams. All time: Wayne Chrebet

If Woody Johnson handed you a blank check and gave you a choice to be a part of the New York Jets organization in any capacity, which position would you choose, and why? (It could be GM, Head Coach, Quarterback, Linebacker, Head of Scouting, Waterboy—the sky is the limit). I’d be a quarterback. Be a leader. And actually have a say on what happens on the field.

Mike Maccagnan gets fired after the season and Woody Johnson decides to name you the next GM, giving you one very clear goal: win the Super Bowl within the next 4 years. What is your strategy to make the Jets a Super Bowl winner? What is your strategy to build this team into a perennial Super Bowl contender?

Step One: build the offensive line.

Step Two: surround Sam Darnold with elite play makers. Go sign Le’Veon Bell (mission accomplished!) and give him big money. Go trade for Antonio Brown (ah well, can’t get ‘em all). We have the opportunity to spend big on the next few years because of Darnold’s contract that we can’t pass on the chance to do so.

Step Three: Draft Josh Allen. Finally get the elite pass rusher this team hasn’t had in years.
