The official start of free agency is not until tomorrow. Considering that is the case, Monday was a pretty busy day for the Jets as they started the “legal tampering” period by agreeing to terms with four players.
On today’s podcast we look at the moves the team made. The final structures of the contracts are still outstanding, but we can still explore what the team added.
The biggest addition is linebacker Anthony Barr from Minnesota. The four-time Pro Bowler reportedly agreed to terms with the Jets on Monday evening. His addition is interesting. What role will Barr play with the defense? At this point we don’t know. There are multiple possibilities.
Additionally, the Jets added a slot receiver in Jamison Crowder. We will talk about what it means for Sam Darnold and the rest of the receiving corps.
The Jets also added bottom of the roster fodder by re-signing Darryl Roberts and bringing in Josh Bellamy. Why? It’s tough to say.
