Notes: Teez Tabor training with Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson

The Lions’ former second-round pick is doing all he can to resurrect his career.

It’s still pretty early in the offseason and many NFL players are using the opportunity to relax with friends and family. Some decide to take a vacation, while others just enjoy the company of all the people they didn’t get to see much of during the season.

Of course, there’s a third option for some players: keep grinding. Detroit Lions cornerback Teez Tabor is in that latter group, hoping to put two disappointing NFL seasons behind him and keep his football hopes alive.

Former NFL receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson tweeted out a picture on Monday of him lining up and help train Tabor.

Tabor hasn’t played much at all in his first two years in the NFL despite being drafted in the second round. Regardless, Lions general manager Bob Quinn displayed a lot of faith in him last week when asked at the NFL Combine.

“I still have faith in him,” Quinn said. “Obviously he hasn’t played as much as I would have hoped, but we’re not giving up on him. I actually had a conversation with him a couple days ago. He’s a guy we’re counting on to get better.”

It’s clear Tabor is committed to getting better, let’s hope that his play on the field reflects that in 2019.

(Note: Also very mildly noteworthy are Tabor’s socks.)

  • Want the Lions to sign Trey Flowers? It’s going to cost them:

  • For you Michigan Wolverines out there, Denard Robinson is making some nice plays in the AAF through four weeks of the league:
