Raiders now odds on favorites to land Antonio Brown in trade

As the reports and rumors swirl as to which team will land Antonio Brown, no team has gotten more buzz than the Raiders. The oddsmakers have followed suit and now the Oakland Raiders are the betting favorites at BetOnline.ag (via OddsShark) at +350.

They’re followed by the Titans (+550), Cardinals (+750), and Packers (+1000). The 49ers follow at 12/1 — tied with the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, and Brown staying with the Steelers.

It was only two weeks ago odds had the Raiders at 14th in the league to trade for Antonio Brown. So, yeah, that escalated quickly.

Reports lately have the bidding for Brown down to three teams — Cardinals, Broncos, and Raiders. Though the Broncos are not among the highest odds.

This is mostly because the Raiders have the most draft picks to move, with three picks in the first round at 4, 24, 27, and a high second round pick (35).

It also helps that every time anyone within the Raiders is asked about Antonio Brown, they have positive things to say, including Derek Carr who just said he hopes the Raiders get Brown.

“I would imagine he’s definitely in play,” Carr said Saturday night during his third annual Inside the Huddle fan event. “I hope he’s in play. It would be great to add a guy like that to your team, talent like that. I don’t know what it’s going to cost. The contract stuff starts getting in the way and they got to figure out numbers and all that kind of stuff. I don’t really like the business side of football. but I just like adding good players to our football team. If it works out in the business side, I know the locker room will be arms wide open to accepting Antonio.”

Brown has made it clear he has no intention of returning to the Steelers and with three years left on his contract, he at the whim of the Steelers finding the highest bidder. But, as Derek Carr alluded to, there is the matter of the 30-year-old former All Pro very likely asking for a new contract, so he won’t come cheap.
