Unger, 32, sustained a concussion in the Saints victory over Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football in Week 15, but was cleared to return to the field for the next game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16.
The six-year member of the Seahawks was traded to the New Orleans Saints after the 2014 NFL season along with a first round pick for tight end Jimmy Graham and a fourth round pick. Unger missed just one start in his four years with New Orleans after missing 13 games in his final two seasons in Seattle.
The Seahawks drafted Unger in the second round in 2009 and he went on to earn All-Pro honors in 2012, was voted to the Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons in 2012 and 2013, was a member of the 2013 Seahawks team that won a Super Bowl and earned another Pro Bowl nod this past season with the Saints.
