Ronald Darby is scheduled to visit Chiefs Wednesday, and they will be testing his ACL

Will the Chiefs add another piece to their secondary?

Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Ronald Darby is scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday night, as first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Darby, 25, is a 5-foot-11, 193-pound cornerback who first entered the NFL as a second-round pick by the Buffalo Bills back in the 2015 NFL Draft. Darby was traded to the Eagles after two seasons with the Bills and was on the team for the organization’s Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots.

Over four years, Darby has compiled 214 tackles (190 solo), six interceptions and 54 passes defensed. He could be a good option for the Chiefs, who have vacancies at the cornerback position, but he does have somewhat of a history when it comes to injuries.

Darby missed eight games near the beginning of the 2017 season with a dislocated ankle and suffered a torn ACL in Week 10 of last season. That is why a crucial part of Wednesday night for the Chiefs will be gauging the health status of his knee.

Our in-house injury expert, Aaron Borgmann, weighed in via Twitter as to what the Chiefs will be looking at on Wednesday night:

The Chiefs just released Eric Berry, presumably replacing him with the newly-acquired Tyrann Mathieu. If all goes well on Wednesday night, odds are Darby will be added to that mix by the time you wake up Thursday morning.
